On March 8, 2015, the Board of Governors of the Federation of Canadian Artists awarded me the the status of Senior Signature member – SFCA. This is the highest achievement in the FCA and I’m incredibly honoured.
It was a huge challenge and honour to be accepted into the FCA’s annual Painting on the Edge International Juried show in Vancouver B.C. Super stiff competition! Much to my surprise and absolute delight, I was awarded the OPUS Art Supply Award for my painting – A Matter of Substance.
My focus this year is to push my limits, explore and take a few more risks with my work. One of the things I have done, is enter more shows off the island – in particular at the main Federation of Canadian Artists Gallery on Granville Island in Vancouver. To my surprise – great success! In the 1st three shows I entered, I was accepted into all 3 and even won 2 Awards of Excellence. So….now to paint, paint and paint! Life is Good!
I just got word that I have had two paintings accepted in the Sydney Fine Art Show in Sydney, B.C. I’m absolutely thrilled that “When the Wind Blows” and “Tanglewood” were among the 350 out of 1250 entries to be accepted. They are both experimental pieces from my Dreamscape series and I’ll be doing lots more long those lines. Please come and see the show or check it out on-line: www.sydneyfineartshow.com
NEWS: ” When the Wind Blows” received an Honourable Mention award at the Sydney show!
